This week i'm up for the @0xMQQ internship. granted 6.9 sol to curate some cool nfts
wanted to go w/ a theme i had some expertise in so today we're divin` deep into a niche of the Avant Gamer NFT niche: Mons NFTs. we'll start with the obvious king of the genre Super Metal Mons💧
a pioneer collection of ai art +avant nft (+nfts in general), these custom gan-generated (+hand polished!) mons by @supermetalx come along w an ancient, mystical, evergrowing lore, & a fully playable, competitive abstract strategy boardgame

n` we'll round out our SMM selections with a rare mons base set flawppy as well as a couple gifts from my own collection: a scarecrow feat a concrete board, +a limited Gate sticker from the 4th yr anniversary mint— those first 3 were a large % of budget but bro needed som grails
more gifts 🤍(well i bought one of them) of some swag pack. here we've got our first new franchise rep, classic of classic mon heroes, Ash Ketchum from Pokemon ('least his hat) plus a Mobstead, a swaggy version of a Commissionom- a collection by bosch's brother @turtletimezone
now some of this stuff so far and more to come i know has been collected by previous interns, but i knew forsure i also had to collect some of @gucci4mycat`s new plastic fools since these jus launched n luckily there were a few incredible+thematic options for me to pick up
next i turned to a few different collections by the singular @kikillo. we've got some sort of regional bulbasaur i suppose and a fun matching pair of lapras traits across Mr. World and Super Stamp World. i'm a big fan of when traits see recurrent use like this<3
you know you can never have enough card nfts so we got some of those. irl trading cards were certainly significant in the prehistory of "Mons NFTs"- hard to imagine how we'd get here without them- so it was only apt of @bis__cut to bless us with these stunning digital bootlegs
+one more card nft never hurt anybody!! this one's another trait pair w this Gengario, a pokemon pfp project taking after Drifella (which i sadly didn't collect any of here, but must shoutout as it is a mons nft). both feature the character Killua from the anime Hunter x Hunter
i promise the rest won't all be pokemon, but check out this beautiful Busta Bounca and this gorgeous Goobdle, both repping the classic japanese cardback design. 🤩💫
it is, i must say, incredible just how much Pokemon representation there is across the space that i could put together such a set. it is now a mythological art historical subject as any other (imagine if Nintendo found out about us...👀)
now for somthing a lil different, we've got some meta mons action w two pieces by @kaiotei_. this chao- itself a mon- has a lil purity finance petpet of its own and the Gaurdian project also features an irl tamagotchi-like step tracking handheld virtual pet device. ❤️🔥SO cool!!

i've got a question: is Yoshi a mon? 🤔it doesn't matter rly bc this ICSA also features Togepi, but i think he is. the Shelves count bc they have a Little Swag World, which is the same universe as Super Metal Mons. or hey, maybe that swan is his mon!
all good mons lore needs some excellent trainers as well so we've gone ahead n stretched the theme a tiny bit to pick up these two swag individuals
also arguably not quite "mons" per say but most assuredly adjacent, i have also got some virtual buddy pieces. the SOLbuddys used to contain fully interactive versions of the original Interactive Buddy game, but they sadly seem to be broken rn. still a rad relic
one more extra gift for @0xMQQ from my wallet. this scroll features yet another legendary mon franchise, Neopets. i am incredibly grateful to participate in this project and that previous interns have already collected some scrolls so this one won't be alone. love this space fr💌
let's round out our exploration of Mons NFT w a few random mints to spice things up a bit! we've got a couple original projects by the previously mentioned @turtletimezone as well as a second gen pixel busta. all these are great projects and should mint out!! (links in alt text)
