I was lucky enough to do the @0xMQQ residency last week, and below is a thread about what I chose to buy and why🧵
My original plan was to spend the full 6.9 SOL on an @bis__cut auction for eight physical versions of his legendary card NFT. I even outbid the budget, hoping to split the collection with @0xMQQ, but I lost—still worth noting as my initial plan.

The first NFT I bought was an LSW HEXP (#106). I’ve been a die-hard fan of @supermetalx from the start, and I have a real soft spot for the HEXP collection—it’s everything you love about LSW, plus animation and a much more limited supply. In my opinion, this collection is seriously underrated and will become highly sought after over time. I chose this one because I love how the busy combination of traits interacts with the background.
Next, I returned to my roots in “Gay NFT.” I cut my teeth in the Tojiba Discord, working for cigs with friends in @tojibaceo back in 2022—simpler times when we were all vibing in the fresh scene the Toji team built after launching their seminal Toji 100 collection. I purchased Toji #1386- "HURT PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE" poster speaking the truth.
And what’s a Toji 100 without a Disc Buddie? Back in the day, we turned all our cigs into a coin called “IJOT” — Toji spelled backward — and minting Disc Buddies remains some of the most fun I’ve ever had in this space. Some days I’d mint one, other days twenty; each one is packed with humor, references, and visual balance. Never forget the brave buddies (deep lore)
The logical next step after Buddies was to mint a Toji A — which, somehow, are still minting (proof of the upside-down world). Toji A are altars: you can /pray there if you /pray, and when you’re done, come back empty and /pray again. Minting one now is like holding a gay time-travel pass, if you’re wise enough to use it.

I bought a horse NFT from @m_m_____m____mm. Word on the street is that he created this entire collection in just 8 hours — the fastest HashLips gun in the West. 🐎 Horses are amazing, and like the other Toji-related projects, horses nail the mix of visual appeal and humor, and he managed to pull it off without turning the horse into an anthropomorphic, weed-head PFP.
Next, I picked up a classic @MMifella. Much has been said and written about Mifella — and when it comes to Gay NFTs, there’s really no more complex or performative figure. Anyone who considers themselves a true head in this scene should own a Mifella original.
I grabbed one sporting a Merzbow shirt for the @0xMQQ collection — a classic just like @MMifella himself.
To follow up the Mifella original, I picked up a Mifella2 — which I’ll admit I’m extremely biased about, since I contributed to it. I think Mif2 represented one of the most radical creation strategies from the early gay days: a group of people, all only semi-acquainted, collaborating through HashLips. It was such a great concept, and watching the collection come together remains one of my favorite moments in early gay history. Do yourself a favor and browse the collection — the range is insane.
Lastly, I picked up three Drifella2s. Drifella2 hit the space like a bomb — it felt genuinely fresh in a way few things do. It’s still a fan favorite for good reason, and @bis__cut is the most exciting artist in this scene (one man’s opinion, of course).
I grabbed one for the @0xMQQ and kept two for myself — I needed one with “tiger paws,” and I can’t let @dnlklr get too far ahead of me.
I want to thank @0xMQQ again for the opportunity to highlight some of the artwork in this space that means a lot to me. I really respect the generosity and vision behind this project. See y’all out there on the TL.🫶
